Pizza Spaghetti Style

Our Start With … series continues with a pantry staple: spaghetti! Start with spaghetti and add some simple ingredients, you can easily create a delicious main dish that will make a meal with just a salad and some garlic bread.

You can use plain spaghetti or whole wheat spaghetti in any of these recipes. Whole wheat spaghetti does take a bit longer to cook, but when mixed with meats and cheeses and veggies, no one will notice that you have added some more nutrition and fiber to the dish.

Start With Spaghetti

Bacon Alfredo Spaghetti Bake

This is one of my favorite spaghetti recipes. The pasta is cooked, then mixed with eggs and sour cream. A mixture of cooked veggies and Alfredo sauce is stirred in, then everything is layered with crisp bacon and baked to perfection.

Classic Carbonara

Spaghetti carbonara is a classic Italian recipe made by coating cooked spaghetti in a mixture of eggs, Parmesan, and sometimes heavy cream. Bacon is tossed in, and everyone digs in. This is an easy recipe to make as long as you follow the directions; everyone should know how to create this dish.

Pizza Spaghetti Style

I love this recipe, which has been in my family’s repertoire for years.Beef, onion, garlic, and mushrooms are cooked with red pepper, then combined with pasta sauce. Spaghetti is cooked until just barely tender, then mixed with a white sauce made of cream cheese, milk, and eggs. The pasta is layered with the beef mixture, then topped with cheese and pepperoni and bake until golden and bubbly.

Creamy and Beefy Baked Spaghetti

This is another delicious recipe based on spaghetti carbonara. Pasta, either leftover or freshly cooked, is combined with eggs, milk and cheese, then layered with a rich mixture of beef and onion simmered in pasta sauce.

Pesto Spaghetti Carbonara

Adding pesto to carbonara is a very simple way to dress up a dish for company or just dinner on a weekend. And remember, when a recipe uses a few ingredients, they must all be of the best quality. In other words, use freshly grated Parm and real heavy cream, not sad imitations!

Baked Spaghetti

Baked Spaghetti is a rich take on a classic recipe. Pork sausage, onion, garlic, and mushrooms are sautéed, then combined with pasta sauce. The hot cooked spaghetti is tossed with Alfredo sauce, cream cheese, sour cream, and Parm, and everything is layered together and baked until bubbly.

Blue Cheese Spaghetti Carbonara

Yet another variation on the classic Carbonara recipe! Blue cheese has a strong and rich flavor and it’s delicious tossed with spaghetti and bacon. Be sure to serve this recipe with a nice glass of white wine and some crisp Cheesy Toasted Breadsticks.

Creamy Pesto Spaghetti with Meatballs

Frozen meatballs, whole wheat spaghetti, pesto, cream, tomatoes, peas, and Parm are all you need to create a rich and hearty main dish that everyone will love. All you really need to complete this meal is some garlic bread!

Turkey Tetrazzini

Well okay, this is a more complicated recipe, but it’s so delicious I had to include it. This recipe is perfect for using up turkey after a holiday meal, but you can also make it with leftover chicken. Lots of veggies, cream cheese (natch) and Parm make this rich dish simply sensational.

Spaghetti Carbonara with Meatballs

Finally, add tender and flavorful meatballs to Spaghetti Carbonara for a heartier main dish that is so easy to make. Choose your favorite frozen meatballs, or make your own meatballs for a personal touch.
